Office Smells

I just had to run (not literally, I walked) a couple of laps all over campus, so now I am stinking it up in the office. Fortunately I am by myself today, so there is no one to get offended by my man-musk.

Here is a picture of my wicked station

Looking Back

Here is a four-sentence re-cap of the Eriksonian weekend:

  • Friday night the Mrs. and myself went to see Sucker Punch (as mentioned earlier, but definitely worth mentioning twice). Haven't been to the movies in a while, so that was a real treat.

  • Saturday I helped a friend move, always nice to get a free workout...

  • Sunday I did a 20K run. It was totally alright, the only irritating thing about it is the ridiculously high number of bug bites one can acquire in a bit over two hours outside.

Consider Me Punched

At the moment I am at the office listening to Bjork's Army of Me and dreaming about a land with school girl uniforms, samurai robots and wicked gun fights. Sucker Punch was phenomenal and had the best use of a Bjork song in a film since Leon.

Elderly Fashioned Learning Institute

Have musically moved from Aimee to My Bloody Valentine.

"Why Matt", you might say, "We dare say it feels as if you are on a wicked 90's kick today."

"But yes", I would reply, "yes it does indeed!"

Breakfast

Freshly made coffee and some dodgy looking broccoli.

To go with this I am listening to the best of Aimee Mann, seems to be a surprisingly nice combination.

Book Shopping

Finally found a good guide for successful stalking.
Hoping to make the move up to the professional league this year.

Reading Partner

This was my night yesterday; trying to read while neglecting the obvious calls for attention from Mustard.

Man in Machine

Today was the "Irish" pot luck at work that for some reason I was bestowed to organise. I made green scones and told people to bring potato dishes. I turned out to be alright, not very Irish, but still not bad.

And now before I leave for the day I decided to give the little judgemental man inside my printer's paper tray a body.

We Love Books!

Not sure what to do with them, but they're awesome!

Spooky Beer

Here is a monster that left his imprint in the foam after I finished a beer the other week.

Time for Sign

Made this sign for the office today.

Here is a video of the firstborn eating a tasty fruit concoction.

You might have to turn the sound up some to hear it.

Solids

We are now having a healthy dose of solid foods every night to go with the formula. Yesterday was the first time we had peas, it was a hit!

Roadside Nuttys

Every day after work myself and the spouse drive to Hanahan to pick up the son at the daycare. It is a pretty dreary drive, especially since the weather have been proper rubbish lately. One thing that always makes it more fun, though, is spotting oddities along the road. It can be weirdos walking along the road, me trying to read the signs of the Mexican businesses with a formidable accent, or waving to people dressed up as stuff, trying to promote their stores. The Serta sheep is my favourite.

Helping out

This is the boy helping me out doing the laundry. I'll do the washing and folding, he'll sit on the bed chewing on a box of mints.

Sky Blue

I have been sick as a dog lately, so there haven't been much blogging. Haven't been much of anything really, I spent as much time as possible from Friday afternoon till Wednesday morning in bed under double blankets trying not to feel like crap.
Today I am at work, feeling a lot better and is proudly sporting my new Manchester City jersey. Considering I am probably the only person on the floor who even know what MCFC is it feels a little like pearls before swine, but hey, someone has got to show the yanks that there are other things out there than pleated khakis and pastel coloured polo shirts.

I finally managed to capture those adorable elusive teeth.

Two Tooth Erikson

Back at work from staying at home a day with the boy. We had a morning appointment with a dermatologist yesterday so we can finally get rid of his eczema (a trait he probably inherits from myself I'm afraid) and after that we just had a grand day, did some grocery shopping, went to the library, made scones and played a lot. He has now got two teeth!
So, now I am in the office rocking out to The Thrills and The Kinks in an adult and mature kind of way

Attached is a picture of the most useless Fire Escape plan ever.

Welcome 2011

Just about to call it a day, and year.
All left to say now is: Feck Off 2010

New Years Eve

Since no one else wanted to work on New Years Eve and I'm just that kind of nice guy, I am alone in the office today. I am currently rocking out to Soundgarden at a really loud volume. I have already gotten my fix for today regarding Nirvana, The Black Angels and The Mountain Goats. I have actually managed to squeese in some work between loading my Ipod and surfing artsy blogs.

Maybe the most Christmassy Shopping list ever?

Rocking Out, Once More

Alone in the office again.
Todays Playlist:
  • Meat Puppets
  • The Vaselines
  • The Jesus and Mary Chain
  • Nirvana

I need it after being force fed Neil Diamond a couple days ago - still stinging in my musical ears.

More Office Hijinks

Maybe not so much hijinks as surprise to find a cockroach who actually writes his own signs and have the audacity to ask to be left alone while taking a nap in the middle of the hall.

Rite Aid Xmas

Here are some gift suggestions by the grossly undereducated people at the local Rite Aid (I guess it is supposed to be a drug store, for those who have never been to R.A.)

A $10 gift card to Burger King, for that someone special.

An interactive TV game. I think Nintendo had a thing like that not too long ago...

Thumbs Up II

So the good news from last week. I got the job I applied for (and had for the last year).
I am now a proud employee of the Medical University.

Not so good news: Katherine, in my office, totally neglected her cup of soup she bought the other day. The soup couldn't understand why it was being treated like that.

Matt the Cop

The wife notified me yesterday that she had found my second doppelganger. The first one is a Irish Republican politician in Dublin, and apparently my other look-a-like spends his days keeping the streets of Stockholm safe. So far he's not doing a bang up job.

Cardy

My boss has her birthday tomorrow, so of course I made the old girl a card.
