The wife has gone all girlie and is watching Hidalgo (I think it's called) with ViggoMortensen all on her lonesome. Myself I need to get the tape since I have gotten my favourite Transformers T-shirt covered in yellow cat hair.
So I just changed the header of the blog into something a little bit more Liverpudlian. As the spring is coming and such I just felt like a wee change was due - so out with the Franz Kafka handwriting and in with Starkey's drum set.
Found a great antique store in Mount P. that had some really cool walking sticks. Although - apparently they are not in style anymore (or so the wife says). Oscar Wilde and I beg to differ!
Just found a couple of really cool biographies online, one on Andrew Jackson (Old Hickory, you know) and one on Edgar A. Poe. And they're only around five bucks each - Sweet.
So the sister in law, the wife and myself went to the Twilight release party at midnight in Friday. It was held at the local Super Wal-Mart. There were tween wannabes and mullets galore, but there was also "vampire" cake and "blood" fruit punch, so...
Ireland just took home the 6 Nations, and by a Grand Slam mind you. Not to brag (well, a little) but take a lookat who predicted the Green Machine as Top Team back in January.
Due to the distinct lack of money I haven't had a haircut in longer than usual. Instead of complaining about it though I have decided to do something constructive instead. Hence, I am following in the footsteps David Bowie, John Lennon and Jimmy Page and am growing myself a fashionable mop-top. So far the girl in Starbucks is the only one that has expressed any liking of it, but I'll win them all over.
Nice and warm out today. The lawn is slowly changing from a yellowish tone to a nice healthy green. Speaking of green - Ireland is ahead in 6 Nations, should they beat Wales on Saturday they will bring it home by doing a Grand Slam. Hasn't been done by an Irish team since '48!!
So Saint Pat's is upon us again. Due to the fact that the economy is the worst since 1929 and only one of us has a job this will be one of the driest Paddy's Day ever.
That still didn't keep us from decorating the house:
So we all went off to the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina to get a little closer to nature this weekend. The only thing was that it rained the whole weekend!! Only left the house to go to Blockbuster. Back in the Low country now, so all is good with the world again.
The Wife, myself, my sister-in-law and nephew are pulling up stakes and going to North Carolina over the weekend. Should have some cool pictures on my return.
I am still at work. Got a bit of of down time towards the end of the day, which is cool. It is so hot out that the first thing I'm gonna do when I get home is get into my shorts and make myself some ice coffee. Just cold coffee and ice - nice.
The wife, who wrongly lost her job last week just got a new one. This, of course is a cause of celebration and nothing says "Congrats" like a six-pack of Shock Top and a bag of Doritos.
Here is a picture of a weird sign next to a school(!) over at Wappoo Rd. I guess it is supposed to be a lipstick, it took a couple of drive-bies to see that.
The Watchmen was awesome. Those three hours just flew by. Now it is time to hit the shower. Looks like it is going to be a nice day, I have already managed to avoid answering the door when Jehovahs' stopped by for a chat this morning.
My nice little routine of running around the block every other day has been spoiled. In an effort to look smart and get fit at the same time I decided to wash my running pants. Needless to say the shrunk - proper. I now look like I have an IQ of... 3 and am expecting a high tide. I am no longer the coolest runner in Air Harbor.
The newest beer to be recommended: Sam Adams' Cherry Wheat. Made with real Michigan cherrys it is a wee taste of spring when the rain drops taps on the tin roof of life.
