Computer Blue

Sitting at the Stockbridge Starbucks, taking advantage of their free Internet. Beside me are two other middle aged white guys, each with a coffee and a laptop doing what looks like important stuff. The main difference between them and myself is probably that I am blasting Prince's Purple Rain album in my multi-coloured headphones.

While I am here I am also charging my phone and iPod - only schmucks pay for stuff like that! So far today I have done some laundry, the dishes, and been in contact with the council - sorting out an issue with a glass recycling bin that was delivered to our home when what I requested was a food waste bin (when will they learn).

I am currently looking to see if I have (and cursing the fact that I haven't) heard back from any of the places where I have applied for work. To cheer myself up I am also trying to decide which selectable classes to take at uni come fall, so far Language Behaviours, Brains and Cognition: Data and Theories has sailed up as a favourite.

Fifth of November

Haven't been sharing on the blog in a really long time now. The main reason for is, as always, that i have been ridiculously busy at work. I am working on a project of sorts and if it turns out well i will probably be looking at a work status of "State employee" (wicked), should things not go so well there are literally people standing in line to do it better (literally).
Although for now i am taking a breakfast breather with some cold pizza and hot coffee at the desk.

Thursday Update

While my homemade (office made, more like it) blend of coffee - one half year old stale store ground Dunkin' Donuts and one half even older Christmas coffee - is boiling in the corner I thought I'd update the old blog some.
Had a visit from the Old Country last week. It was really awesome. Of course there is never enough time to do everything you have planned, but i feel we got as much out of the week as we could.

The only picture from the visit that I took with my phone is the one below - my older brother who is now scientifically proven to be Decadent and Sweet.

JuJu Java

I am trying to cut down on the coffee only to prove to myself that the temporary involuntary shakes I sometimes get in arms and legs are not related to the 10+ cups of coffee i drink a day. I am not sure how to come out as a winner from this experiment...

Morning

After a proper healthy breakfast I have now moved myself to work where I am having foreign coffee.

Nordic Brew

Apparently you can get a decent cup of coffee over here. All you have to do is order the stuff online, which my co-worker does...

Java Rug

I have also spilled a respectable amount of ground coffee on our flash office carpet, in an attempt to brew some new joe after I wasted half a pot ruining the number keys on my keyboard by pouring coffee all over them.

Spillage

So far today I have spilled coffee all over my desk twice. I feel like I've got at least one more time in me.

Sweet Lady Joe

I have had eight cups of coffee in two hours. For good or bad - that's the most exciting thing that's happened in the office today.

Beans and Brian

I have just spent my lunch break drinking coffee and watching Brian O'Driscoll clips on YouTube. I have come to two personal conclusions; I really miss not being able to watch rugby on the telly - and - I need to stop pouring hot coffee in the mug while its half full with cold joe already, all I get is a cup full of lukewarm java - and that doesn't make anyone happy!

Return of the Vamps

The wife, her sister and myself went to the midnight showing of New Moon last night. As a result of distinct lack of sleep I almost fell asleep during a meeting this morning. The film was good, it had more funky vampires and quirky dialog than the first one. Now I need to re-heat some old coffee, so I can finish the day.

Cat Burglar

Just tried to jimmy the lock to the cabinet that holds the coffee. I thought it was going alright until I broke off one of the paperclips inside the lock. I have now managed to get it out and given up any aspirations of having any java today...

No Coffee Wednesday

It's Veteran's Day so loads of people have the day off. I am alone in the office, which is cool. I can get some work done and at the same time space off on the Internet if I want to. The first thing I did this morning however was to accidentally lock the cabinet that has the coffee in it! I now have an empty coffee maker standing next to my desk, taunting me...
